Meet Dr. Lim
Daniel P. Lim, M.D. is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. His clinical expertise is in conditions and injuries of the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
Born and raised in Honolulu, Daniel is an alumnus of Hanahau‘oli and Iolani School. He attended the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles for his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and remained at USC for Medical School. As a student-athlete, he was a member of a NCAA Division I National Championship Water Polo Team at USC, and four Hawaii State Championship Swim Teams with Iolani.
For medical training, Dr. Lim completed Orthopedic Surgery Residency at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia—regarded nationally as a premier training program with comprehensive orthopedic care, a Center for Advanced Cartilage Repair, and an affiliation with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).
Dr. Lim furthered his Orthopedic specialization at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles. His fellowship training included a focus on sports-related injuries, minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques, and complex shoulder conditions. He served as a physician on the medical teams for professional organizations including: LA Dodgers baseball during their 2018 World Series season, LA Rams football during their 2019 Super Bowl season, USC Water Polo and Athletics, LA Sparks women’s basketball, LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks hockey, as well as junior colleges and high schools.
His contributions to the medical community include published research, journal articles, and book chapters that were presented at national and international conferences. He remains active in the advancement of Orthopedic Surgery, treatments, and therapies as a reviewer for The American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Lim has fulfilled his long-time dream to return home and contribute back to the community of Hawaii. He looks forward to treating your orthopedic and musculoskeletal needs with the highest level of individualized care.
